Cruise Service will start soon in Mathura and Vrindavan
If everything goes according to plan, Mathura and Vrindavan will soon be connected through a cruise service. Referring to this, Union Shipping Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that Mathura and Vrindavan will be connected by a cruise service, for which waterways will be developed on Yamuna.
This step has been taken in view of promoting religious tourism in the region.
The Minister said that the experience of traveling by cruise would also attract tourists visiting Agra to visit Mathura. Recently while attending an event at Shankaracharya Ashram, Govardhan, the Minister while answering the question of Shankaracharya Adhokshajanand Dev Teerth talked about the Union Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways to promote tourism in the region. What is he doing?
Sonwal said that Gokul, Mathura and Vrindavan would be connected by developing a waterway on the Yamuna, adding that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had recently met him regarding the scheme.
The twin cities of Mathura and Vrindavan are famous for being the birthplace of Lord Krishna, and attract a large number of pilgrims and tourists every year. For those looking to go on a short spiritual stay, these twin cities are the place to go. And since the places of interest are not far from each other, most attractions can be visited in just one day.
With this new development, it is expected that the destination will be able to attract more tourists in the near future.
