For three months each year, Kerala’s beautiful backwaters are turned into venues for the most incredible sights you’ll ever see. The Champions Boat League is an annual event in which there will be snake boat races. The event starts on 4 September 2022 and ends 26 November 2022.
This event displays the best rowers who demonstrate their skills and perfect coordination. Not everyone gets to witness these magnificent, snake boats in person, but for those who do, it is a one-time experience that will be unforgettable. Not only does this event have amazing traditional boats with marvelous rowers, the thrill of excitement and enthusiasm is something that everyone should watch.
To prepare for this boat race, you should make plans to take a trip to Kerala. This event will be held in 12 different destinations throughout Kerala.
For this year, the venues are:
- Sept 4 – Nehru Trophy Boat Race in Alappuzha;
- Sept 17 – Karuvatta in Alappuzha;
- Sept 24 – Pulinkunnu in Alappuzha;
- Oct 1 – Piravam in Ernakulam;
- Oct 8 – Marine Drive in Ernakulam;
- Oct 15 – Kottappuram in Thrissur;
- Oct 22 – Kainakkari in Alappuzha;
- Oct 29 – Thazhathangadi in Kottayam;
- Nov 5 – Pandanadu, Chengannur in Alappuzha;
- Nov 12 – Kayamkulam in Alappuzha;
- Nov 19 – Kallada in Kollam;
- Nov 26 – Presidents Trophy Boat Race in Kollam.
This event is an effort to bring attention to the Kerala culture and its traditional festivals. It’s a guaranteed way of protecting and promoting their culture.
With these festivals coming up, a focus is on to promote and protect Kerala’s traditions and cultures. The celebration will bring together many who are interested in keeping traditions alive.
